A matter of choice

Das Lied hab ich gestern zufällig bei youtube gefunden, als ich eigentlich nach was ganz anderem suchte. Ich hab es immer wieder und wieder angehört, weil es für mich eine ganz fundamentale Aussage hatte:

It's all about choice.

Ich kann mich entscheiden,

• ob ich mir positive oder negative Gedanken über meine Familie, Freunde, Arbeitskollegen, Nachbarn oder sonstige Bekannte mache
• ob ich gut oder schlecht über diese Leute rede
• ob ich den Menschen mit Liebe oder Abneigung begegne
• ob ich nur über meine eigenen Probleme jammere oder ein offenes Ohr für die Probleme anderer habe
• ob ich den Tag mit oder ohne Gott beginne und ende
• ob ich jemandem von Jesus erzähle oder nicht

Rick Warren schreibt in einem Buch (God's Power to change your life, Zondervan 2006): "In addition to choosing our thoughts and choosing to depend on God's Spirit, we can also choose how we respond to the circumstances of our lives."

It is our choice to love, to forgive, to be patient, to do good, to pray, to smile, to rejoice.
